Hey guys!
It’s time for this months FloraCraft®Make It: Fun® Team Challenge. I have 2 really cute and easy Christmas decorating ideas using FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam. These are both perfect for busy folks who don’t have a lot of extra time to craft.
Christmas is 11 days away, and I am enjoying the anticipation. However, I need snow to really get me in the mood. You see…I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and I’ve lived the majority of my adulthood in Michigan. I am a snow chick, and this 50 degree weather is strange for someone like me at Christmas time.
If you’re feeling the same way, maybe this “Sparkly Snowflake” will cheer you up.
Isn’t this snowflake gorgeous how it naturally lights up against the pine branches and stands out? It actually looks like it’s floating. I’ve seen everything from ski’s, to signs on Christmas trees this year, now it’s time for the simple snowflake to shine.
As soon as I received the EPS Floracraft® Foam Shapes I knew the large Floracraft® Foam Snowflake would look beautiful on our Christmas tree. The best part being, all I had to do was add a little sparkle to the snowflake. After that, I could literally stick it anywhere on our tree. 2-3 would look even better, but I stuck with just 1. By the way, you can buy these at your local Michael’s Craft Store.
To get my snowflake sparkling, all I had to do was paint a little glue onto it and shake some glitter onto the glue before it dried. Then I shook off the excess. Be sure pets don’t get near the glitter!
So pretty…

On to my second easy FloraCraft® Christmas decorating idea…
How about an “Ornament Christmas Tree”? I know you’ve seen them in the stores. I actually bought one 5 years ago and paid a fortune. For my homemade version, I used FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam Cones, and dollar store ornaments that come in a tube.
Isn’t she purty? A little plump, but a golden beauty!
To assemble the “Ornament Christmas Tree”, just stick bulbs into the foam after you dab a little glue to help them stay put. I kept the ornament top on the bulb. Start at the bottom, and work your way around (let each row dry before adding another row). If there isn’t enough room for a full row of bulbs, just space them out a little and fill in with cotton, or polyfil. Complete the look by adding polyfil wherever you need “snow” using a toothpick to stick it in.
For the finishing touch, I used FloraCraft® Design It:® LED Light Strands to wrap around the tree. It really made it so beautiful, especially at night.
Let me know if you make one!
Please PIN for later!

Hi Julie – First of all – your tree is GORGEOUS!!! I love the idea of a foam tree and love your suggestions! I actually took your advice and clicked on your link to purchase one… I’m not sure how I’m going to use it yet, but it will definitely be front and center with something fun on it for my Peace, Love, and Chocolate fundraiser in February. I’m not supposed to start thinking about it or planning until December 26 so shhhh… don’t tell! Hugs, Holly
Pretty trees! I love the golden and sparkling ornament tree!

Thank you, Helen. Helen was my grandmother’s name 🙂

Thank you, Linda!! 🙂
Hi, I am new to your website and wanted to print the pic and instructions to your Xmas Appetizer Tree. I ended up with 18 pages, including advertisements, reader reviews, etc. Do you offer a link for printing your recipes/crafts?
Only on recipes, Sandy. This really isn’t a recipe, but more of a craft. Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for sending this to me! Merry Christmas!
