Hello, hello! It is Carrie from Lovely Etc. and I’m back to share another favorite project with you all!
This year I made it my goal for the year to Be Bold. To take more chances even if it meant failing more. And as part of that, I decided to take more chances in my home as well.
My foyer had always been one of the most blah, ugly rooms in our house. Which was really sad since it is the very first room that greets you when you enter our home!
So I decided the foyer was the perfect room for a shot of boldness. I love the look of plank walls and I loved the idea of making a huge statement right when you enter the house. So the plank wall in the foyer was born.
I definitely wanted to keep costs down so the wall is made of sheets of plywood ripped into boards of varying widths. Which means our small wall cost less than $50 and we were able to put it up in an afternoon.
And now that combined with our DIY orb chandelier flipped our foyer from one of the ugliest rooms in our house to one of my favorite! Come check out all the details of the paint treatment and installation at Lovely Etc. Thanks so much for letting me share Julie!

I LOVE this wall. I’ve been envisioning something similar for my daughter’s room. May I ask what you used to add color to the panels? Is it a stain or did you use something like chalk paint? It’s lovely!
