Recycled Water Jug Vase

Facebooktwitterpinterestmail

Well, well, well.

WELL-come back!

Well, what I can I tell ya?

Well…what I can tell ya is that we have a well.

Do you think that’s a good thing or a bad thing?

Well, let me tell you what I think.

We don’t like it.

The endless pounds of salt, expensive filters for the water softener, and $$$$ repairs to the well, really tick us off.

There’s really nothing we can do about it, though.

Well, maybe there is.

We can make this “Recycled Water Jug Vase”!

 Well, what do you think?

(okay, I’ll stop with the “wells” now)

In case you didn’t know, when you have a well, usually you drink bottled water.

We go through millions of these huge jugs of water, and I got to thinking.

Water Jug

There had to be SOMETHING I can make out of one of these ugly jugs.

I had a few ideas, but this one seemed the easiest.

I spray painted it with Rustoleum High Gloss Brown Spray Paint.

All it needed was 2 coats and a little time to dry.

Then I added the twine around the opening.

Lastly, I went out in my back yard and cut some pretty Oak branches.

You didn’t think those were fake did you?

Looks straight out of Pottery Barn if you ask me.

I was inspired by this photo from a decorators catalog:

I decided to give it it’s final resting spot on our front porch because I noticed some weird bugs on the leaves.

 Well, what do you think?

I think I did very WELL!

Before I go, I have an announcement.

I would like to introduce you to someone special.

Her name is Carrie, and you will be seeing her around these parts about once per month.

Carrie is a very talented DIY Decorator who blogs at Lovely, Etc., and we are honored to have her join the RCD team.

Stop over and check out her work.  When I found her, I found it hard to leave her blog.

Her first post will be live tomorrow morning, bright and early, so be on the look out.

I have a question, why do you drink bottled water? We have a well also and we drink tap water, ours is wonderful.

    • Julie says:

Hi Dj, we have a really high mineral content. We feel safer not drinking it. The well is 25 years old, although in good condition.
