Upside Down Apple Dumpling Pie {Tastes of Lizzy T}

We’ve been super busy over at Tastes of Lizzy T. This past month we unveiled our new website. Have you seen it yet? We’re hoping it is so much easier for you to navigate and find all of your favorite recipes. Our new site came just in time to share with you all of those amazing fall flavors. Pumpkin…sweet potatoes…and one of my favorites…apple! This fall we’ve showcased a few of our family’s favorite Amish recipes such as Amish Apple Goodie and Amish Apple Dumplings. If you’re looking for a new fall recipe to try, definitely try one of those.

If apple pie is more your thing, maybe you can try this fun Upside Down Apple Dumpling Pie. It’s not often you get to bake a pie and flip it upside down before serving it. It’s a bit of a competition in our house who gets to do the pie flipping!

This pie is made just like your normal apple pie. The only difference is that you first line the pie pan with aluminum foil, then combine some melted butter, pecans and brown sugar and put them on top of the foil. After that, you just make your pie as normal. After the pie bakes, you’ll flip it over and have this:

Isn’t it beautiful?

That gooey brown sugar syrup coating the outside pie crust is so amazing. It makes this classic apple pie over-the-top good.

Is your mouth watering yet? If so, head on over to our site to get the recipe!
