I’m in the mood for some RUFFLES, but it’s not the salty, crispy version 🙂

Before I tell you all about the ruffles, I wanted to give you a heads up on a giveaway coming up.

This “Hamilton Beach Mixer(s) Giveaway” begins this Sunday 2pm EST.

You don’t have to be a blogger to enter.

So, back to the RUFFLES.

Our master bathroom is one of Sylvia’s favorite places to look out the window.

I can’t tell you how many times I have had to crawl into the tub to reach the blinds for her.

I’m not sure how she does it, but she manages to never knock over my glass canisters.

Such a graceful kitty.  I love her company.

Sorry, back to the RUFFLES.

Now you know what I’m talking about.

It’s the “Ruffled Curtain Over the Glass Shower Door”.

Maybe I’m a little obsessed with the “Ruffled Curtains”.

After all, I already have them in our kitchen, and also in my daughter’s bedroom.

I even ordered 3 sets for my Mom after she fell in love with them.

This isn’t a sponsored post, either.

This is what our shower looked like before:

Now, it has some softness.

It also adds privacy when needed.

I used an inexpensive oil rubbed bronze curtain rod to hang them.

Then I used a tie back that I had from years ago to pull the ruffled curtains back.

I can leave them down if I like too.

That’s the way I prefer it when we have company and they want to see the house.

(By the way, that mesh garbage pal is from the dollar store.)

I’ve been pondering having a curtain to enhance our shower door for years now. Thank you for showing me how it can be done and with a feminine touch! Just loved how you did a redo on your bathroom using things you already had. Now that too is so very very inspiring !
Loved your graphic on singing. You just described my youngest daughter! She loves to sing (loudly and off pitch). But there is so much joy in her, how could I rain on her parade? So I bet my tongue and try to close my ears. 🙂 Thanks again for all that you share with us. xoxo

Julie, I loved the ruffled curtain when you showed us the kitchen, and I really love how you used it here. Not sure my hubby would be as accepting of the ruffles as your sweetie is, but with all of the dark wood and chocolate accents, it doesn’t come off too feminine. Nice work! Thanks again for sharing your lovely home.

  9. […] So, here we were with the almost 25 year old shower.  I admit it really wasn’t that bad.  However, if you look closely, the marble threshold is a disaster.  It’s really pretty gross, so let’s just skip looking, but know it is bad.  The other thing is the shower door.  This door sounded like a big base drum when it would close.  It banged so loud that my husband didn’t even like to shut it anymore, and I would find it open over morning.  Lastly, the color of the tile was just ugly.  I felt old in here and I just had enough of the 1990’s look.  One tip I want you to know about before we move on, is covering the old shower door with a curtain panel.  This made me happy for a few years, so check it out here if interested in a quick fix: Ruffled Shower Curtain Over Glass Shower Door.
